The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
Our military clinic remains open and we’re continuing to provide healthcare services. Scheduled appointments and procedures are proceeding as planned, and new appointments continue to be booked. Health Services

Optometry

We provide comprehensive eye care to the active duty personnel who are empaneled to the 49 MDG. No referral is needed. At this time, non-active duty must be seen off base for their eye needs, with the exception of diabetic eye exams which will be seen at the 49 MDG. Active duty family members are authorized 1 eye exam off base annually and retirees and their family members are authorized one eye exam off base every two years. For details on coverage for non-active duty patients, visit TRICARE. Most patients will receive an updated contact lenses prescription, provided they wear their contact lenses to the appointment and provide their contact lens data to the clinic. For information on PRK/LASIK surgery and active duty member responsibilities for vision readiness, please call the clinic.
